Valasky Frgal Ingredients:

• 500 grams (1.1 pounds) of flour

• 2 yolks • 125 grams (0.276 pounds) of butter

• 75 grams (0.165 pounds) of powder sugar

• 0.3 liter (10.14 ounces) of milk

• 35 grams (0.077 pounds) of yeast

• Pinch of salt

• 1 tea spoon of grated lemon peel 


Prepare yeast starter out of sugar, milk and yeast. Mix the butter, rest of the sugar and yolks together. Add the yeast starter and rest of the ingredients and mix it well together. Let the dough rise 2-3 hours I have made 2 large frgals from the dough.


Roll it out directly on the baking tray. The edge should be higher to hold the filling inside of the pie. Fillings: • Farmer’s cheese filling( my trick to make it easy – Philadelphia cheesecake filling) • Poppy seeds filling (blend poppy seeds, cook in the milk, add sugar and rum) ‘ • Pear’s • Plum butter • Apricots …………….. Finally top it with the streusel (flour, butter and sugar) Bake it in the oven by the temperature 355 F,


After it is done, sprinkle it with melted butter (you could add a pinch of rum)
